Collaborations of Modern Dance Technique
There is a great need and demand for dance students and professionals to experience many modern techniques in the movement realm. This session concentrates on the fundamentals of these styles for any dance teacher, with modifications for all ages and abilities. Methodologies focus on basic modern dance concepts: time, space, energy, force, swing/release technique, flat backs, curved vs. angular space/movement, the six dynamics of modern movement (sustain, suspend, swing, collapse, vibratory, percussive), spine and spiraling. Yoga warm-up technique for the dancer is incorporated within the session.
