Personal Fitness: Maximizing Student Learning |
According to the American College of Sports Medicine, educational programs that are designed to increase cognitive and effective aspects of fitness and health are nonexistent (ACSM, 1988). When we are facing an obesity epidemic (Center for Disease Control, 2004), why is this the case? This presentation will introduce a unique fitness and wellness unit of instruction design based on a Personalized System of Instruction (PSI) model for the purpose of maximizing student learning. Attendees will learn how to implement a personal fitness unit of instruction that empowers students with the knowledge and skills to achieve and maintain fitness. |
