| What is a Voluntary State Curriculum (VSC)? How did Maryland create a Pre-K through Grade 8 Voluntary State Curriculum and On-Line Assessment Tool Kit for Dance, in harmony with visual art, music and theatre? Learn the "why and how" of the Maryland VSC and the process for creating an assessment tool kit. This session includes perusal of the curriculum, glossary, and tool kit. The Maryland State Department of Education wrote this curriculum to benefit all of its counties (including school systems previously without arts programs). Assessments match specific curricular objectives. A question-answer period follows. |
