Another Way Forward: Results from the International Summit at Kennesaw State University on Women's Leadership for Social Change
Sport and physical education play important roles at the individual, community, national, and global levels. Access to and participation in sport and physical education provide opportunities to experience social and moral inclusion for populations otherwise marginalized by social, cultural, or religious barriers. The United Nations, during the International Year of Sport and Physical Education, sponsored an international summit on women and sport in Atlanta, Georgia, in October, 2005. A report of the event and recommendations for the future will be shared with those in the audience.
