Professional Development in Adapted Physical Activity: What’s out there? Where do I look?

Developing meaningful continuing education opportunities to acquire the necessary skills to effectively provide services to work in inclusive and least restrictive environment settings remains a challenge. This interactive session will highlight professional development programs to assist current and pre-service teachers with ideas and strategies to enhance student learning to meet the demands of providing education services to children with disabilities in a variety of physical activity/education settings. Presenters will offer an in-depth opportunity for discussion and dialogue regarding continuing education opportunities that may include: certifications, workshops, clinical experiences, laboratories, extension outreach and volunteer programs.
