Tobacco Prevention and Cessation on College Campuses: The Ohio Project

Three Ohio campuses have implemented a comprehensive tobacco control program designed for college campuses over the past year. The project has impacted over 40,000 students by collecting baseline tobacco use and attitude data subsequently used to plan social norm marketing campaigns, implement new campus tobacco policies, elimatinate secondhand smoke and increase cessation opportunities for students. Specific topics to be covered in this session include: conducting an on-line campus survey, involving stakeholders in the planning and policy making and using students as leaders in the tobacco project.
