Many schools use peer leaders to promote healthy behaviors regarding ATOD, conflict and bullying behaviors. Through a panel discussion, K-12 educators learn of three award winning programs. The Trading Cards Program (US Health & Human Services Award) uses high school students as drug free role models for elementary students in the same community. The Recess Enhancement Program (Carol M. White PEP Grant Recipient) trains student leaders in conflict resolution, fair play and cooperative recess games. Athletes Helping Athletes - an ATOD prevention program for elementary students addresses issues of sportsmanship/civility, bullying and teasing.
