Trials And Tribulations In Aging Research – Getting From Desk To “Success” In Field Intervention Research
Diane Austrin Klein, The University of Tennessee - Knoxville, Knoxville, TN

“Failed” research studies rarely appear in journals, so the ways in which we learn how to go about doing field research usually come as hard lessons fraught with field adjustments. These lessons may force changes in the process as we go, or cause us to live with them and apply the lessons learned to future research. This workshop is designed to share lessons learned in a “failed” research study and how these lessons were applied in developing successful research in the field, specifically in assisted-living facilities.
