| The Athlete's Right of Privacy: How Safe Are They? | ||

Batista, Texas A & M University, College Station, TX America’s fascination with sports and those associated with sport is well documented. Often, to satisfy the public’s curiosity about sport celebrities, the media will go far beyond reporting game related accomplishments. There have been numerous accounts in which the personal details of an interscholastic,intercollegiate, recreational, and/or professional athlete’s private life have been made public. There is, however, a limit to which their private lives can be intruded upon. The purpose of this presentation will to present the individual and organizational risks as well as risk management suggestions when circumstances involve disregarding an individual’s right to privacy. | ||
