Cost-Effective Strategies for a Healthy Workplace: The Maine Cardiovascular Health Program Worksite Pilot Project
This program developed an inventory of policy and environmental strategies that can be used to create work environments that support healthy lifestyles. The intervention protocol assessed organizational needs, employee interests and behaviors, and leadership support. The project specifically focused on stragegies to address physical inactivity, tobacco use, and poor nutrition. The Worksite Pilot Project created a wide variety of policy and environmental strategies that can be used by all employers, regardless of size or industry, to create supportive work environments.
