Professional Preparation for Community Health Education: A Gap Analysis Activity
Are Community Health Educators effectively prepared to develop education plans, unit plans, curricula, and to deliver effective presentations/programs? It offers an innovative opportunity for community health educators to explore and discuss the needs of community health practitioners regarding the knowledge, dispositions, and skills necessary in the effective planning and delivery of community health education programs. Three different perspectives on the professional preparation of Community Health Educators will be presented. A focus group process will be used to further explore the scope of the problem, the ideas presented, and to brainstorm potential solutions.
