Get Information, Get Inspired, Get In Shape: Melpomene Institute and the Changing World of Women's and Girls' Health and Fitness Advocacy
Although the message to become physically active appears everywhere, actually informing, motivating and inspiring women to abandon sedentary lifestyles remains a challenge. Melpomene Institute, founded in 1982 to fill an essential niche of defining issues and providing answers for women of all ages, can cite success, but also faces new challenges. In this presentation, founder Judy Mahle Lutter and President Rachel Seidman will discuss their experiences in creatively and cost effectively reaching out to a broader audience. This discussion has particular application and importance to community-based, nonprofit organizations hoping to attract more girls and women.
