Total Body Fitness for Older Adults
As one ages, the qualities necessary for safe and graceful movements decrease. This course introduces a unique total body/mind conditioning program that enhances the qualities needed for every day life and fitness. This program is based on the Burdenko Method. Dr. Igor Burdenko PhD began his career in Russia and is now living in Boston where he works with Olympian Paul Wylie, Oksana Baiul, and the Olympic Ski Team. The Burdenko Method, however, has multiple benefits for the elderly and allows for a home based, community based or center based program, which uses simple equipment with a low cost factor.
