Outdoor Skills: Curricular Modules that Align with the NASPE Standards
This pre-conference workshop is designed for teachers who want to incorporate a variety of 'outdoor skills' into the Physical Education curriculum. The modules include mountain biking, orienteering, winter camping, adventure racing, backpacking/hiking, 'Leave No Trace' practices and expedition 'logistics'. The 'curricular modules' will be discussed in relationship to the NASPE standards. Each participant will be exposed to teaching strategies/sequence and evaluation techniques. The presenters will provide a 'curricular module handout' for their activity at the conclusion of the session. NOTE: Session begins in room N427d with activity portion of the program to be held in N427bc.
