Peak Performance: One Size Does Not Fit All!
As the participation level in sport and recreation for girls and women continue to rise, the incidence of injury also increases, but at a disproportionately higher rate. Are females more vulnerable or are they less prepared? The audience for this session could include teachers, coaches, and trainers (or participants themselves) who work with girls and women to prepare for peak athletic performance. As a result of this session, attendees will learn how to apply the proper mechanics for conditioning programs, including resistive exercise. The advantages and precautions of several exercise programs such as Pilates and plyometrics will be included.
