What is Professionalism? How are We Preparing Students for the Ethical Demands of Employment and/or Graduate School
In the "The Apprentice", the candidates use different tactics to advance themselves professionally. Are these the appropriate role models for students? The National Commission for Health Education Credentialing, Inc. (NCHEC) under responsibility X states “Health educators at the advanced level serve as role models for younger health educators.” What do students need to succeed and who is responsible for providing these skills? This interactive session will discuss topics such as the “AAHE Code of Ethics for Health Educators," internships/employment, professional attire, office politics, romance in the office/educational setting, and informal/formal communications.
