Aquatic Fitness Foundations
Participants will receive an overview of skills and knowledge necessary to become aquatic fitness instructors. An outline for possible credentialing or certification will be proposed. Practical experience in the water will include basic exercise which identifies muscle groups and enhances intensity by manipulating qualities of the water. Participants will experiment with travel formats, surface area, range and types of motion as adaptations of basic exercises. Water experience includes discussion and experiment with monitoring intensity and a guided practice teaching session. ***Workshop will be held at Illinois Center for Rehabilitation and Education (ICRE-Roosevelt), 1950 W. Roosevelt Road. Participants need to meet there and transportation is participant’s responsibility.
