Tai Chi: Exercise for Multiple Uses
This half-day in-depth conference will focus on the multiple uses of Tai Chi. The is a participatory session and is in three-parts. Part I focuses on introducing effective approaches to learning and practicing Tai Chi exercise. Part II will introduce Chair Tai Chi Chuan (CTCC), which was developed based on the characteristics of Tai Chi and the movement dimensions in a seated position. Part III will introduce and demonstrate Cardio Tai-Chi – a new holistic approach to overall fitness combining ancient Tai-Chi movements and principles of modern aerobic fitness methods. Participants are expected to actively participate in all Tai Chi exercises. There will be lecture, discussion, demonstration, follow-me exercises, and handouts.
