Using the School Health Index
The School Health Index (SHI) for Physical Activity, Healthy Eating, and a Tobacco-Free Lifestyle: A Self-Assessment and Planning Guide was developed as a tool to help schools assess and improve their physical activity, healthy eating, and tobacco-use prevention policies and programs. This two part session will examine the use of the SHI in two settings: a middle school setting and a pre-service setting. Implications for use of the SHI in these two settings will be provided.
