Impact of PEP Grants on Urban Physical Education
The purpose of this session is to describe how PEP grants impacted the practices of teachers in two urban school districts: Columbus Public Schools and Cleveland Municipal Schools. The session will begin with a brief overview of university/school district collaborative strategies used to facilitate change and provide professional development. Elementary, middle and high school teachers from these two districts will share personal stories of how PEP professional development opportunities impacted their philosophies, teaching practices, and programs. Conversations will focus on the impact these changes have had on the teachers, and their students, as well as “life after PEP.”
