NAGWS/WSF Joint Presentation--The GoGirlGo Project
This successful Women’s Sports Foundation program has reached more than 273,000 girls aged 10-14 in its first three years. It is designed to educate girls about health risk behaviors in a sports environment. GoGirlGo uses personal stories from champion athletes, including Tamika Catchings, Vonetta Flowers, Mia Hamm, and Natalie Williams, and a team of four teenage characters, the GoGirls, to teach adolescent girls life lessons about topics such as dating, body image, dealing with bullies, diversity, smoking, drugs and stress. Find out how you can implement this free program in your school, camp or community organization.
