Alternative Physical Education for an Active Lifestyle for Life
Participants at this session will be presented with a quick review of current alternative curriculum programs being utilized in physical education. They will use this information to develop a goal for their individual programs in regards to promoting active lifestyle through the lifespan. Each participant will develop an action plan for including alternative activities into their curriculum. Brainstorming in small groups will help to establish short-term and long-term objectives and possible obstacles in meeting individual goals. Resources will also be provided to assist in the implementation process, including web sites, existing programs, and current research findings.
