Using PDAs for Assessment in Exercise Physiology and Physical Education
This session will illustrate the use of PDAs by exercise physiology and physical education students. PDAs are practical and economical tools for collecting data in a variety of settings. Exercise physiology students can use PDAs to assess fitness, record laboratory/research data, and schedule fitness tests. Physical education students can use PDAs for fitness/sports skills assessment, grading, lesson plans, and classroom management. Data can be transferred from PDA to PDA, or downloaded to personal computers for data analysis and report generation. Peripherals include audio/video clips, digital pictures, heart rate monitors, pedometers, stopwatches, and Internet access, giving flexibility to instruction and feedback.
