The West Point Aquatic Instructional Model
An overview of the aquatic instructional paradigm currently being utilized within the Corp of Cadets at The United States Military Academy at West Point. Focusing on the Plebe (freshman) year aquatics program, this presentation will explore methodologies utilized in rudimentary aquatic skill development, instructional issues within water survival training, and pedagological strategies specifically designed for novice and non-swimmers. Additional materials will explore an innovative water exploration instructional module, aquatic leadership requirements, and validation/remediation methodology used in new Cadet training. A must attend session that will inspire and motivate any physical educator!.
