Perceived Health Status and Health Behaviors of Nepalese Community: A Pilot Study
The disparity in health status among racial minorities in the United States is a well-known phenomenon. Asian and Pacific Islanders have indicators of the healthiest minority groups. However, because of the diversity within the group, the health disparities for some segments are remarkable. This presentation will highlight the assessment of perceived health status, health behaviors, and health care issues of the Nepalese Community in the United States. There will be an attempt to demonstrate the effects of acculturation between the generations. This discussion will help health professionals to prepare appropriate health education and service delivery programs.
