Adapting Adventure Activities for Participants with Disabilities
Adventure activities and problem solving initiatives provide physical educators the opportunity to teach to the "whole child" (or participant). It seems as though all participants benefit physically, cognitively, and affectively from these experiences. How can we provide these valuable opportunities to all people? Can we adapt “Car and Driver” to include participants with visual disabilities? Can we provide a climbing wall experience to a child with physical disabilities? Please come ready to participate in some adventure activities and share ideas on how to adapt or modify them for all participants.
