A National Survey of U.S. Faculty Hiring Standards in Health Education
Findings from a nation-wide study aimed to assess the current standards utilized by U.S. universities and colleges to hire faculty in Health Education programs will be presented. All institutions listed in the Directory of Institutions Offering Undergraduate and Graduate Degree Programs in Health Education published by the American Journal of Health Education (2001) were invited to participate. Data on program demographics, frequency of searches, type of searches, response rates, and reported quality of applicant pools will be presented. Reported guidelines for the interview process and importance given to candidate qualifications in hiring considerations will also be addressed.
