Current Climate and Recommendations to Enhance High School Coaching
This presentation describes an extensive 2003 study that included 1,000 coaches in 250 randomly selected Georgia high schools. The survey revealed important data concerning coaches education, experiences, qualifications, hiring practices, evaluations and future interests. Comparisons were made respecting gender, ethnicity, and school classification, etc. Additionally, this study provided data to enhance the coaching curriculum and better prepare coaches to aid in the development of future generations. This presentation's aim is to place athletic directors, coaches and coaching educators in a position of enhancing high school coaching.
