MASSPEC Day: A Chance for Everyone to Score: Ultimate Flag Games
Ultimate Flag Games were developed to address the lack of middle school students’ participation in physical activities. The games elicit participation by providing every student the opportunity to compete against students with similar skill levels, and score points no matter whether they are playing offense or defense. These games provide aerobic activity, skill development, and positive self esteem reinforcement. Research has found that students prefer to play ultimate flag games over traditional sports. This presentation will include an overview of the research of this program, two of the games and the equipment necessary for play, and audience participation in game play.
