Components of Spirituality: An Interactive Approach
Spirituality is recognized as a component of health. However, it often is excluded from classrooms because educators sometimes are uncomfortable with appropriate methods to approach the topic. This session will help health educators and others who work with adolescents and college students learn to effectively address spirituality with students. Session participants will be presented 1.) a history of spirituality as a dimension of health and 2.) results of research using The Life Attitude Profile-Revised (LAP-R), an instrument to assess spirituality. Participants will complete the LAP-R and examine their own scores as they pertain to the dimension of spirituality and will have an opportunity to discuss results.
