Characteristics of Optimal Psychological State in Competition and Mental Strategies for Peak Performance
The numerous research studies revealed that peak performance associates with certain psychological states in competition. But, not every athlete can achieve such a psychological state. Instead, many athletes may experience an irresistible competitive anxiety that is detrimental to their performance. However, research studies approved that the optimal psychological state of athletes can be attained through proper mental training. This presentation will analyze the psychological processes of the pre-competitive anxiety and also provide several mental preparation strategies for peak performance. A thorough understanding of the processes of competitive anxiety and the psychological strategies would help athletes achieve peak performance in competition.
