Learning Our Legacy: Women in Sport...Through Their Own Lives
Historically, women and girls have not been provided equal opportunities in sport. A variety of reasons/excuses have accounted for this disparity; such as (a) restrictive perceptions about physiological differences between the sexes, (b) societal norms and attitudes, and (c) organizational rules and support. This presentation takes a close and personal look at school sport for women/girls not only as it has been archived and recorded, but as experienced by four generations of women in sport. Their voices tell an important story, and share a glimpse of "our" women's sport legacy.
