In response to the large, preventable burden of disease, disability and related costs associated with inactivity, 50 national organizations convened to create the National Blueprint: Increasing Physical Activity Among Adults Age 50 and Older, released in 2001. The Blueprint includes recommendations for a collaborative approach to increasing physical activity among older adults. This presentation will describe the Blueprint, the Active Aging Partnership, and the status of a number of activities which support the recommendations of the Blueprint. Activities and efforts at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention will be highlighted. | ||
