| Rosanne S. Keathley, Sam Houston State University, Huntsville, TX Acquaintance rape is an epidemic on high school and college campuses. Females between the ages of 15 and 25 are primary targets for attacks involving sexual violence. Vulnerable students need to be able to 1) recognize warning signs and risky behaviors; 2) use refusal skills; 3) report the attack; and 4) allocate recovery support systems. This interactive presentation will enable educators to serve as advocates for prevention against this growing epidemic. Program components include: victim and prepetrator profiles, legal sanctions, scope of the problem, warning signs, and escape / refusal skills. | ||
