| PNF Training to Reverse Functional Decline in Assisted-Living Older Adults | ||
| Diane Austrin Klein, The University of Tennessee - Knoxville, Knoxville, TN Attendees will learn how a targeted PNF training program improved ROM and strength for assisted-living older adults and improved results on performance tests indicative of functional status. Approximately 80% of the participants showed improvement and 20% showed maintenance of strength and ROM, ADLs/IADLs, balance, and mobility over baseline measures. In addition, these improvements occurred during a short-term (10-week ) PNF training intervention suggesting that longer-term interventions would have greater results. | ||
