Inter-ethnic violence continues on a regular basis in Kosovo. The Vietnam Veterans of America Foundation (VVAF) has created the Sports for Life program to facilitate reconciliation between ethnic minorities and provide a vehicle for peace building. An overview on how the Sports for Life program has been able to provide the capacity for minority communities to create sport and recreation opportunities, create a peace-building tool, and support some of the first inter-ethnic competitions in a society where segregation is mandated for the safety of the nation will be presented.
