Unique Alternatives to Traditional Physical Education Classes via Outdoor Adventure Education
This workshop is designed to assist individuals seeking alternatives to traditional physical education courses. Participants will explore how to create and develop an outdoor education program. Also included is information on the presentation of an outdoor adventure education program to school officials and administrators. Topics discussed in this session include the creation, selection, and use of: Alternative Programs; Course Description, Assessment and Curriculum Standards; Itinerary; Trip Rules; Transportation; Course Instructors; Student Selection Process; Emergency Action Plan and Health Issues; Equipment and Supplies; Fundraising; and Program Presentation.
