Modern Dance Technique, Teaching through Peer-Tutoring & Reflection
This participatory workshop examines various methods while teaching dance technique to improve the effectiveness of engaging students toward personal learning involvement. By teaching students movement skills, we provide multi-layered experiences that give them a deeper understanding of the material presented. Through peer-tutoring, partners will learn observation skills, teaching techniques and how to communicate ways to affect improvement, thereby becoming invested in each other's learning progress. Through reflection, students will understand their body's capacity and movement potential. Through the practice of self-reflection and self-evaluation, personal change occurs.
