Improving Sexuality Education
Symbiotic relationships among lifestyles and health, mortality and morality, and science and philosophy force health educators to assess and make judgments about what are scientifically sound and morally good health interventions. The first presentation argues that school-based condom availability programs are scientifically and ethically justified. The second presentation focuses on rape education prevention programs. The final presentation discusses sexual harassment which has become an issue of increasing relevance in the public schools. This interactive session will utilize PowerPoint, handouts, small group and large group discussion and role plays to identify sexual harassment behaviors among youth and how those behaviors can be addressed through education.
