The Lifeguard Crisis
The session addresses the lifeguard crisis by discussing how to: increase motivation to decrease turnover, correct the problem, and integrate A.E.D.’s/oxygen units into management procedures. The Lifeguard shortage has been plaguing the aquatic industry for a number of years. We will review motivational techniques to increase the longevity of lifeguards on your staff, and present research and proposed solutions to assist you with correcting the problem. We will discuss how to integrate A.E.D./oxygen units into aquatic accident management procedures to assist you in preparing for the standard of care that changed in January 2002.
