New Advocacy Successes for Physical Education
This session will focus on the advocacy strategies and efforts that resulted in a Texas state law being passed requiring specific minutes of physical activity for every student in grades K-6 as well as positive successes in California and North Carolina. The window of opportunity is open for those wanting to affect change in children's physical activity. Don't let the window close. Learn how to focus the spotlight on health issues surrounding childhood obesity and the lack of physical activity to create a campaign for your state, school, and physical education/health program.
