Promoting the Physical Activity of Children Beyond Regular Class Time - How Physical Educators Can Help
This session will begin with discussion of the revised Physical Activity Guidelines document (COPEC) and other prominent national documents dealing with the promotion of physical activity. Panel presenters will discuss programs designed to get children active outside of the regular physical education class (before, during, and after school programs and homework opportunities). Breakout sessions will provide additional opportunities for attendees to ask questions and receive detailed information from panel presenters. The focus will be on ways that elementary school physical educators can promote physical activity of their students beyond regular class time.
