Designing a Required Wellness Class for the General Education Curriculum |
Offering a wellness class in the general education curriculum has been an ongoing struggle at many institutions. Most of the efforts have been unsuccessful due to lack of faculty support across campus, limited teaching and facility resources, and a poor delivery system. The purpose of this presentation is to outline the curriculum of the wellness classes offered at University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, University of Northern Iowa and Luther College. All three institutions use a similar curriculum but different delivery that has proven to be acceptable by and beneficial to the students and faculty across the campus. |
