What Can be Said About the Effect of Physical Activity on Learning? Results of a CDC-funded Review of Literature
In recent years, many schools have cut back on physical education requirements, because physical education has been seen by many as a low priority. Advocates of school physical activity programs have responded by publicizing books and articles that claim to show scientific support for a link between physical activity and learning. In 2001-2002, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention funded researchers at Wayne State University to conduct a literature review of studies that evaluate the effect of physical activity on learning. At this session, results of the literature review will be presented and discussed.
