Acculturation Through Dance: Valuing Diversity
This presentation examines acculturation through dance as means to explore and value cultural diversity. Dances of the Micronesian Islands provide a lens through which participants can experience how dance and dancers become a conduit for cultural change. Curricular materials are presented that will help teachers introduce this material to elementary and secondary students in dance and physical education programs.
