Using Stations to Teach Adventure
Participation is the key to learning in adventure activities. Often, however, only a few people are involved in an adventure activity while many wait their turn as the leader is spotting, belaying, or doing other tasks deemed important to assure safety. This need not be. Using teaching stations, participants can work on tasks independent of the instructor, increasing involvement. This program is designed to help attendees learn how to use stations in teaching adventure. They will learn the types of adventure activities appropriate for station teaching, and how to set up, manage, and supervise adventure stations. They will also have an opportunity to participate in a number of stations.
