Prioritizing the Six Components of Health: An Interactive Approach
Between 1998 and 2002, over 400 prospective elementary school teachers at Bemidji State University (MN) were asked to prioritize the following health components: Emotional, Intellectual, Occupational, Physical, Spiritual, and Social. Age and Gender factors were also analyzed. The results indicate interesting, diverse trends that suggest specific avenues for comprehensive health enhancement. This activity will be modeled for the attendees who will all have the opportunity to participate including indicating why they chose a component #1. This activity opens the door and comfortably glides nicely into an introduction to the challenging topic of spiritual health.
