Get Core Strength! Teaching Cues, Progressions, Sequences, and Curriculum Ideas for Teaching and Developing Core Strength and Dynamic and Stable Balance in Schools
The focus of this hands-on workshop is to demonstrate and teach practitioners how to create safe core strength and dynamic and stable balance programming in school PE. Stability balls, tubing, and hand weights will be used to teach progressions for core strength development. Agility ladders and balancing activities will be used to teach progressions for core strength. Guidelines for creating safe and effective progression and sequencing of these activities will be demonstrated and supported with reference materials to support future programming in their specific settings. Equipment issues and curriculum planning will be discussed in the final phase of the program.
