COPEC Day: The Spectrum Connection - Developmentally Appropriate Applications for Children
Helping children to make informed and responsible choices, fostering their social skills, and promoting their ability to explore and think divergently are important goals for all educators. In this session participants will become familiarized with the "Spectrum Connection" and learn valuable teaching methods that support the NASPE Content Standards in physical education. The Spectrum of teaching styles is a framework that lays a foundation for the dynamics of the teaching-learning process. This session will highlight developmentally appropriate applications of the Spectrum. Each teaching style will be featured with video-clips of actual physical education lessons with children.
