Women in Coaching 2003: New Data on Attitudes
Title IX is celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2002. While participation rates for girls and women in sports have increased, clear declines in the number of women in coaching and leadership positions are well documented. The purpose of this session is to review sociological and historical concepts related to decline in women in sport and to share findings from a research project designed to explore what current university women believe about opportunities for women in coaching.
